Alfonso Segura Sr. age 86, passed away July 8th, 2016, in Raton, NM.
He was born in San Jose, New Mexico on August 18, 1929 to Donato and Avelina Segura.
Alfonso was preceded in death by his parents and his son Alfonso Segura Jr..
Alfonso leaves behind to cherish is memory, his wife of sixty years, Mary Louisa Martinez-Segura. His children that he loved so dearly, Edna Candelario and husband Chris of Raton. June Palomino and husband Chris, of Las Vegas Nevada. Juanita Lucero and Husband Manuel of Raton. Ronnie Arguello and wife Karen of Las Vegas Nevada.
Alfonso, was Blessed with seventeen Grandchildren, Twenty-nine Great Grandchildren, six Great Great Grandchildren. All of which he loved dearly.
Surviving, Alfonso are two sister, Aneda Baca of Amarillo Texas. Merica Ortiz of Las Vegas, NM. And brothers Rudy Segura from Raton, NM. Raymond Ramon Segura from North Carolina.
Al worked as a coal miner until the mines closed in the 50’s. Then went to work for A-1 Sign for many years. He retired from Miners Colfax Hospital.
Al will miss his motorcycle buddies, fishing buddies, and coffee buddies. He never passed a friend up without saying, hello, telling small stories and shaking their hand.
He was a friend to all and had a very special love for his wife Louisa, whom he visited every day at MCMC Long Term.
Visitation will be Friday July 15, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.for the public and 4:00 p.m.to 6:00 PM for the family at the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home Chapel. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will take place July 16, 2016 at St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Deacon Tom Alderette Officiating followed by the Solemn Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant. Rite of Committal and internment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery Al was a disabled Army Veteran. Al will have full Miltary Honors and will be provided by the VFW Honor Guard.
