Phyllis Anson, age 87, passed away Wednesday July, 6, 2016 in Clayton, New Mexico.
A Prayer Vigil was held at 7:00 pm, Friday July 8, 2016 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Dalhart.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday, July 9, 2016 at St Anthony of Padua. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart.
Officiating was Monsignor Michael Colwell, Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua and Deacon Ron Hein.
Phyllis was born March 8, 1929 in Verdigre, NE to Edward and Alice (Burkley) Sukup. At the age of eight the family moved to Sinton, TX. They moved to Page, NE to farm. Phyllis graduated from Creighton High School at the age of 17. Phyllis married Delbert Anson, July 27, 1946. To that union three children were born, Janet, Connie, and Gerald. During their marriage they resided in Osmond, NE, Orchard, NE, settling in Page to raise their family. The family moved to Omaha, NE where Phyllis was employed by Crosby, Kunold and Burket Funeral Home. They retired to Johnson Lake near Lexington, NE. They sold all of their property, bought a motor home and traveled the United States. They bought a home in Dalhart, TX in 2000.
Phyllis is survived by her children Janet and Roger Banks of Dalhart, TX, Connie and Fred Thelander of Clayton, NM, and Gerald Anson of Broken Bow, NE, 7 grandchildren and their spouses, 24 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren, Brother- Duane Sukup of Council Bluff, IA,, Sister-in-law Lynn Sukup, Brothers-in-law: Neve Anson, Omaha, NE, Arvin Anson, Neligh, NE Sisters-in-law: Alice Mahood, Grand Island, NE, Rosalee Taylor, Morningside, IA, Aunt: Eva Maule, of Winnetoon, NE, Close Cousins: Eugene and Mary Sukup of IA. Numerous nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
