| Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash North of Springer |

Saturday, July 9, 2016, around 12:45 p.m., New Mexico State Police officers responded to the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash. This crash occurred on Interstate 25 near mile marker 423.
The initial investigation revealed that a vehicle, driven by Mark Lemesany (24) from Lakeside, California, was traveling southbound when the vehicle drifted off the roadway and on to the shoulder where it overturned several times.
The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The passenger, Isabella Yengst (19) from Santee, California, sustained severe injuries and was transported to Miner Colfax Medical Center. She was later airlifted to University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque and is listed in critical condition.
This vehicle crash is still under investigation.
