Margaret “Peggy” Campanella passed away peacefully at her home in Raton, NM on June 24, 2016 at the age of 92.
She was born on July 27, 1923 in Seattle, Washington. Peggy moved to New Mexico in 1946 to marry Joe Campanella. They were married for 66 years.
Joe and Peggy lived in Cimarron for 42 years during which time they owned and operated the Ranch Bar. They moved to Raton in 1992 where she was active in the Hospital Auxiliary and presided as President for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe who passed away in 2014. Peggy is also preceded in death by her daughter Margie Vetter who passed away in 2014.
Peggy is survived by a daughter, Betty Marable and a son Charlie Campanella along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering celebrating her life will be held on July 16, 2016 at the Sweet Shop on S. 2nd St. in Raton from 11 am to 2 pm.
