Florence Hayhurst, age 91, passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2016 at Parkview Medical Center.
She was born in Berwind, Colorado on September 20, 1924 to Angelina (Guadagnoli) and Mike DiPaolo.
Florence attended area schools graduating from Trinidad High School in 1942.
She was employed for Mountain Bell and AT&T, retiring as the Secretary to the President of the company, after 42 years of faithful service.
On November 14, 1948, Florence was united in marriage to Ellis Hayhurst at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Aguilar, CO.
Florence moved from California back to Trinidad 2 years ago, where she resided until her passing.
She liked to cook, travel and visit with family and friends, sharing old stories and memories.
She was very artistic and liked to draw.
Florence loved the holidays, especially Christmas, and always tried to come home to Trinidad to celebrate with her family.
She was a generous and kind person who loved to spoil all of her nieces and nephews.
They will truly miss her.
Preceding her in death are parents, Angelina and Mike DiPaolo, step father Joe Ambrose, husband Ellis Hayhurst, sisters Madeline (Frank) Vecchio, Mary (John) Skalko, brothers Lou (Louise) DiPaolo, Carl (Violet) DiPaolo, nephew Franklin Vecchio, mother and father in law Harriet and Ralph Hayhurst.
Survivors are nieces and nephews, Mike (Paula) Vecchio, Debbie(Mike) Fiorenzi, Ken (Brenda) Vecchio, Mike DiPaolo, Lou DiPaolo, John (Paulette) Skalko, Carl Skalko, numerous great nieces great nephews and many dear friends including her extended family at the Legacy,
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July 6, 2016 with Rosary at 1PM at the Comi Chapel followed by the Funeral Mass at 2PM at Sebastiani Gym.
Inurnment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.,
