Casey Joe Martinez, age 37, of Raton, passed away Sunday May 29, 2016 in Raton. He was born February 7, 1979 in Trinidad, CO, the son of Jo Ann Roman.
Casey worked as a handyman, loved playing pool and spending time with his cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Margie, uncle James Martinez, aunt Carmen Galvin and cousin Justin Luksich. He is survived by his mother and step father Jo Ann and Tom Roman of Raton, grandfather James Martinez of Raton, sons, Jesse James Martinez of Raton, Casey Joe Martinez Jr. of Pueblo, CO, sister Sheena Martinez and Roman Romero of Raton, aunts Novella Hernandez of Los Cruces, NM, Edna Sandoval and Roger of Raton, Angel Luksich and Ray of Raton and Betty Nevares of Raton. nieces Tiana Mares and Avril Schenk and Josh Jr. and nephew Santos Romero, numerous cousins, and lifetime best friend Chris Jamison.
Visitation will be Tuesday June 7, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton. Recitation of the Most Holy Wednesday is June 8, 2016 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church recited by Deacon Tom Alderette. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 A.M. with Father John Trambley as the celebrant. Rite of Christian Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton.
