Doris Ellen Macaluso, age 84, was called home after a brave battle with cancer, on May 17, 2016. Doris (known as Dory to her family and friends) was a loving wife, mother, sister ,aunt, grandmother and great grandmother.
Doris was born on September 25, 1931 in Perryton, TX to Horace Kelly Mann and Marguerite (Beardsley) Mann. She was the oldest of three siblings. She moved to Trinidad in 1943. On October 7, 1950 she married Victor Macaluso Jr. She was the proud mother to two children, Ron and Debby. She loved to travel, read, sew, play bridge, spend time with her dogs, work in her yard and weave. She was an Eastern Star and enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
Doris was proceeded in death by her parents, Horace Kelly Mann and Marguerite (Beardsley) Mann, her brother David Mann, son in law Joe Mapes, and granddaughter Vikki Mapes.
Doris is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Victor Macaluso Jr. and her beloved dog Spike. Her two children Ron (Patricia) Macaluso of Carlsbad, NM and Debby (John) Damrell of Whitharral, TX. Her sister Mary (Jim) Appelt, Polson, MT. Four Grandchildren, Mandie (Clint) Hill of Tyrone, CO, Ryan (Sarah) Macaluso of Ft. Collins, CO, Megan Damrell (Tyson Tyler) of Levelland, TX, and Katelan (Cody) Byars of Vega, TX. She was the proud great grandmother of 6, Brittanie and Weston Hill, Brendan and Ryder Macaluso, Berkley Byars, and Kamryn Tyler. Nieces and nephew, Robbi, Rick and Jennifer. Amazing friends and caregivers, including Yvonne Bravo and Christi Worley.
Funeral Services will be held at Comi Funeral Home on Friday, May 20th at 9:00 a.m., with inurnment to follow at Masonic Cemetery.
