Clara F. Lester, age 79, passed away on April 24, 2016 in Raton. She was born of May 17, 1936 to Guillermo and Elvira LeBlanc in Golondrinas, New Mexico.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Travis Lester, siblings: Celia Cruz, Joe LeBlanc, Alfonso LeBlanc, Lino LeBlanc, and nephew: Celestino Ortiz.
Clara is survived by daughters: Laura Lester of Albuquerque, NM; Marsha Jarzombek of New Braunfels, TX; Cheryl Urban of Parker, CO, sons: Dale Lester (Laura), Will Lester both of Albuquerque, NM; Ward Shrake of Raton, Terry Urban and life partner Greggory Price of Denver, CO; Alton Urban of Midland, TX; sister’s-in-law: Minnie LeBlanc of Albuquerque, and Delia LeBlanc of Raton, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Clara was part of the Relay for Life organization, humane society, and a member of the St. Patrick’s/ St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was employed by City Market for 28 years and known to some as Aunt Clara.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Monday May 2, 2016 at 9:30 AM at the St. Patrick’s/ St. Joseph’s Catholic Church followed by the Solemn Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 AM with Father John Trambley as the Celebrant. Rite of Committal and Inurnment to take place at the Fairmont Cemetery.
