Was it the prom jitters as Raton prepares for their prom on Saturday night or was it that the Lady Cardinals simply put it together for their early morning games Saturday, April 23rd?

The first game of the day started at 9:00 a.m. and the Lady Tigers started the scoring off in the first inning when Montana Trujillo batted a ground ball to bring in Jadyn Walton who had just belted one into deep left field and made it to third. After that, the Lady Tigers would struggle by just missing fly balls deep into the outfield and making a few too many errors allowing the Lady Cardinals to round the bases.

By the end of the seventh inning Robertson had dominated the Lady Tigers with an 11-1 win. The second game however wouldn’t be any better for the Lady Tigers as once again they would struggle with fly balls that seemed to be glove resistant as they fell away to the ground.

The ladies just couldn’t hold on as high fly balls would tip the glove and fall free while Robertson base runners would round the squares. Raton’s Jadyn Walton also struggled at the stripe and was replaced by Natasha Archuleta in the second who also struggled at the pitching stripe. The Lady Cardinals once again put several balls deep into the outfield where Raton made the effort but the balls seemed to again be repelled by the gloves.

This time Raton would go down without scoring as they couldn’t get anyone past second base to home and a 12-0 loss to Robertson.
