Cold and later light rain made for an interesting first game of a double header with Logan Monday afternoon as both teams battled the cold as they traded leads until Raton finally took the lead in the fifth inning for good and to mark the win column again.
Logan took the early lead as Ashlon Snipes rounded the bases. Raton answered with two in the first but Logan battled back to regain the lead with three runs in the second. The Lady Longhorns then held Raton to a three up, three down, in the bottom of the second. Raton however would finally get things going and tie the game at four in the third and again at five in the fourth.
In the fifth the Lady Tigers added one run before making a eight run rally in the rain and the sixth to put the game away. They held on in the seventh to hold Logan to four up three down to end the game.
Game two saw the rain lighten up and the sun briefly show its face before a drizzle came back over the field. Raton however simply dominated this game as the had players round the bases for eight runs followed by another five in the second after holding the Lady Longhorns to three up three down. The Lady Tigers tied the ribbons on the third inning with two runs and a stolen home plate by Camryn Stoecker for the win.
Coach Tina Dorrance took advantage of the non district game with Logan to get her two other pitchers some pitching time as Jadyn Walton went the distance in game one for the win and Camryn Mileta went the three innings in game two.
