The Raton Lady Tigers hosted the Tucumcari Lady Rattlers for another district game Thursday afternoon, April 14, and it took a while to get in their groove, the Lady Tigers of Raton did shut them out in a 10-0 win taking the win in five innings 10-run rule.
The Lady Rattlers left two on base in the first inning while Raton went three up three down. The second inning was the switch as Tucumcari did the three up three down with one strikeout by Raton pitcher Natasha Archuleta. Raton started the scoring when Camryn Stoecker made it around the bases with base hit and one from Montana Trujillo, who also rounded the bases for a score.
Raton went on to add one in the third and three more in the fourth while holding Tucumcari scoreless with good pitching from Natasha Archuleta and solid defense from the other ladies. A couple of hits into left field help Raton put runners on base and bring a couple more around as Estrella Vargas crossed home plate on errors for the 10th run in the fifth inning and ending the game.
Raton is still undefeated in district play and only have one loss to West Las Vegas earlier in the season. Raton will play again Saturday against NACA for another district game. The defeated NACA earlier 28-2.
