Edith Lorene Talbott, age 91, of Raton, NM, passed away April 9, 2016 in Springer NM. She was born June 2nd 1924 in Chelsea OK, the daughter of Clyde Samuel and Luesettie (Redfern) Shelton.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother . She loved decorating cakes, playing music, sewing, camping, hummingbirds, fishing, and was a member of the Good Sam’s, The Panhandle Bluegrass Old Tyme Music Association, and a member of Quatro Estados.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband Leslie Vernon Talbott and her brother Oscar L. Shelton and is survived by; one daughter, Beverly Kent of Raton; two sons, Darrell Talbott, wife, Peggy of Arvada, CO, and Dale Talbott, wife, Becky, of Rio Rancho, NM; four grandsons Brian and wife Deanna, Daniel and wife Tylena, Kevin and wife Amberly, and David and wife Liz; 3 great-granddaughters Madeline, Natalie and Sawyer; and many friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be Monday, April 18, 2016 at 1:00 p.m . at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Crotinger officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairmont Cemetery in Raton.
