In Loving Memory of Frances (Puga) Craig

Frances (Puga) Craig went peacefully to be with her lord on April 92016.
   

Frances was 100 years old. She was a strong, loving and generous woman and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Frances was giving to a fault, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally. The time they spent with her will be cherished forever. Frances loved animals and cared for hundreds of them throughout her lifetime.

Frances Craig1Frances was born on Dec. 23, 1915 in Torreon, Mexico to Antonio and Maria (Gomez) Puga. She moved with her family to Colorado as an infant and grew up in Berwind, CO where her father was employed as a coal miner.

The family moved to Trinidad when her father passed away as a result of a mining accident. She graduated from Trinidad High School in 1931 and several years later moved to Pueblo, CO where she graduated from the Psych Tech program at the Colorado State Hospital. She was employed there until her marriage to Louis Peter Craig on July 23, 1948. In later years, she worked at Alta Vista teaching developmentally delayed children. She loved the job and her children, and they loved her.
 

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings Daniel, Charles, Larry, Joseph, Mary and Beatrice.

Frances Craig2Survivors are her daughter Lisa (Ross) Hallihan, Trinidad; son Anthony Craig,Trinidad; daughter-in-law Mary Jane Craig, Trinidad; grandchildren Jennifer (Wayne) Giron, Nevada; Antonio Craig, Denver; Gillian DeLeon, Trinidad; Danika (Ben) Gonzales, Trinidad; Phaedra (Joe Martinez) Martin, Trinidad; Jessika (Mike) Baca, Pueblo; Amber Craig, Pueblo, and Simone Craig, Trinidad and brother Henry (Agnes) Puga, Denver. She is also survived by great grandchildren:  Christopher and Matthew Giron; Isabella and Nicolas Craig, Tyler,  Brenden, and Laycee DeLeon, Maegan, Justin and Jacob Gonzales, Kennedy, Haylee, and Joseph Martinez, Sophia and Andrew Baca and great great grandchildren Aiden and Sylas DeLeon, as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Active pallbearers for Frances are:  Antonio Craig, Wayne Giron, Andres DeLeon, Ben Gonzales, Joe Martinez and Mike Baca.

Honorary pallbearers are all of her great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 14 2016 at 10AM with Scriptural Service at 1PM, both at Comi Funeral Home Chapel.

Immediately following the services, interment with Rite of committal will be held at Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
