Violet Johanna (Yadrosich) Rodighiero, widow of the late Henry Crist Rodighiero, passed away on March 22, 2016 at the Veterans Community Living Center in Walsenburg, where she has resided since May of 2009.
Violet celebrated her 87th birthday in May of 2015. Violet was born and raised in Trinidad where she lived her entire life. On October 26, 1946, she married her “one and only love” and they had three children together, Richard Eugene (September 1947); Henry Victor (August 1951); and Annette Sue (July 1958). Violet and Henry were married nearly 30 years when he passes away unexpectedly in 1976 at the age of 49. Violet worked at Mode O’Day dress shop, the First National Bank of Trinidad, Dairy Queen, and Marketime Drugstore. She loved baking and cooking for her family and friends, as well as crocheting, knitting, and doing numerous different craft projects throughout her life.
Violet was preceded by death by her beloved husband Henry Crist Rodighiero (aka: “The Jewel Tea man”), in January of 1976; by her oldest son, Richard Eugene Rodighiero, in January of 2003; her father, Sam Yadrosich; her mother and step-dad, Jessie & Percy D. Smith; two sisters, Lillian Di Fatta (Burbank, CA) and Teresa Nimitz (Orange, TX); a niece, Kathy Angle (Denver, CO); her aunt, Ester Turri (Pueblo); as well as by several other in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear life-long friends.
Violet is survived by her son, Henry Victor Rodighiero (Denver, CO); her daughter, Annette Kancilia (Littleton, CO); a sister, Rosemary Angle (Parker, CO); a daughter-in-law, Debbie Page Rodighiero (Trinidad, CO); four grandchildren, Matthew Rodighiero (Trinidad, CO); Erika Rodighiero (Pagosa Springs, CO); Aimee (Jed) Kancilia-Danbury (Littleton, CO); and Michael Kancilia (Englewood, CO); grand-daughter-in-law Becky Rodighiero (La Junta, CO); three greatgranddaughters Clarissa (Nate) Rodighiero-Trumble (Pueblo, CO); Kaytlyn Rodighiero (La Junta, CO) and Elizabeth (Lizzy) Rodighiero (La Junta, CO); great-grandson, James Danbury (Littleton, CO); and great-great grandson Steven Trumble (Pueblo, CO). Violet also leaves behind some special nieces and nephews and dear friends, as well as the loving caretakers at the Veterans Community Living Center in Walsenburg, whom she “loved and adored” until her death.
At her request, a private service will follow at a later date.
