In Loving Memory of John Franklin Cuccia

John Franklin Cuccia, long-time Trinidad and Westminster, Colorado resident, passed away Saturday March 19, 2016 at St. Anthony North Hospital in Westminster, Colorado. He was one day shy of age 76.

 

John was born March 20, 1940 in Sopris, Colorado. He worked for Couey Moving and Storage, owned a bar called Cats Corner in the 1960’s and then began a career with Package Delivery Service which later became United Parcel Service. He retired from UPS after 27 years.

 

CucciaHe loved hunting on his family’s property. He loved fishing so much, he bought a pontoon boat. He was fortunate enough to see the Colorado Rockies baseball team go to the World Series and he had season tickets to the Denver Broncos games. On game day, he piled the family into the motorhome and everyone headed to the stadium for tailgating and going into the game to watch the Broncos. He was elated to see the team win the Super Bowl this past season.


He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mary Cuccia, and his older brother Joseph Cuccia.

 

John is survived by his loving wife Antoinette. On February 20th they celebrated 51 years of marriage together. He is also survived by his five children:  Debbie (Jay) Schiessler of Aurora, Colorado, John Jr (Sandra) Cuccia of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jeff (Connie) Cuccia of Trinidad, Colorado, Ty Cuccia of Longmont Colorado and Michele (Joe) Santistevan of Northglenn, Colorado. He is survived by 7 grandsons:  Jacob Cuccia, Jeff (Megan) Cuccia, Jeremiah (Holly) Cuccia, Josh (Crystal) Cuccia, Jereme (Bridget) Cuccia, Angelo Cuccia and Christion Santistevan. He is also survived by 5 granddaughters:  Maud Baker, Jackie Cuccia, Krystyna Cuccia, Ashleigh Santistevan and Bryana Cuccia. There are also 9 great grandchildren.

 

John made many friends throughout his life. He loved his family more than life. He helped anyone in need with no consideration for himself. He also was an adopted grandpa to various friends of the family. He will be sadly missed, as he was cherished by many. We love him with all our hearts, and we will meet him again in Heaven.

 

Funeral Memorial  Mass will be celebrated Friday April 1, 2016 at 1PM at Sebastiani Gym.

Private inurnment at a later date.
