Wanda Marie (Earle) Smith, age 84, died Sunday, March 20, 2016 in Guymon, Oklahoma.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 25, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Robert Hunt, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Wanda Marie (Earle) Smith was born on December 14, 1931 in Clayton, New Mexico to Kenneth Earle, Sr. and Etta Valora (Stockton) Earle. She had 6 brothers whom she adored and doted on. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1950. Wanda married Harold P. Smith on June 10,1950 in Tucumcari, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on February 5, 2013.
Wanda enjoyed many different hobbies: she was an accomplished seamstress, tooled leather, painted and crocheted. She also worked in the Wood shop alongside Harold for many years and they sold their wood items at craft shows as “Smith’s Hobby Shop”. Music was a big part of her life, she enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music of all kinds. She and Harold operated the Felt Grocery Store in the early 1950’s until they moved to Clayton where she worked at Beatty’s Grocery store for several years. The family moved back to Felt in 1966 where she worked as a school cafeteria cook, bus driver and custodial helper. She also was able to find time to be a wife, mother and homemaker in her spare time. After retiring from Felt Schools in 1986, Harold and Wanda moved back to Clayton where they lived until they relocated to Hugoton, Kansas in 2012. In 2013, Wanda moved to Guymon, Oklahoma.
In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda was preceded in death by all 6 of her brothers: Kenneth, Orval, Edward, Harrison, Walter Lee and Max Dwane Earle.

2 DAUGHTERS: Janice Marie Smith of Guymon, Oklahoma and Cheryl Ann (Smith) Kottke of Lawton, Oklahoma.
2 SONS: Ronald Earle Smith of Goodwell, Oklahoma and Bernard Leon Smith and his wife Sue of Hugoton, Kansas.
4 GRANDSONS: Samuel Smith of Guymon, Oklahoma, Anthony Smith and his wife Jen of Amarillo, Texas, Matthew Kottke of Yuma, Arizona and Benjamin Smith of Texhoma, Oklahoma.
1 GREAT-GRANDSON: Jude Smith of Amarillo, Texas.
2 SISTERS-IN-LAW: Thelma Earle of Douglas, Wyoming and Donna Earle of Nara Visa, New Mexico.
1 COUSIN: Dora Ann Matthews of Checotah, Oklahoma.
and many nieces and nephews.
