In Loving Memory of Daniel Trujillo

Daniel Trujillo, age 85, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in Clayton, New Mexico.

Rosary will be recited at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 by Deacon P. Louis Montoya and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton with Fr. Joel Bugas as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

trujillo dDaniel Trujillo was born on December 5, 1930 in Moses, New Mexico to Jose Demetrio Trujillo and Elfeda Amalia (Martinez) Trujillo. He attended the Clayton school system and served in the US Army during the Korean War. A lifelong resident of Clayton, New Mexico, Daniel married Mary E. (Cruz) Trujillo on February 17, 1958 in Clayton, New Mexico and she preceded him in death on February 26, 2011. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton. Daniel worked for the Town of Clayton for 17 years and then later for the Union County Road Department for 28 years and retired at the age of 77.

In addition to his wife and parents, Daniel was preceded in death by 5 brothers; Jody, Lawrence, Joe Jr., Florence and Louie, by four sisters; Faye, Pauline, Mary and Patsy, a niece; Carla Hartman and nephews; Dino Marrandino and Jimmy Blan, Jr.

SURVIVORS:

2 DAUGHTERS: Dolores Gonzales and her husband Steve of Moriarty, New Mexico and Loretta Funk and her husband Mark of Clayton, New Mexico.

4 SONS: Daniel Trujillo, Jr. and John Trujillo and his wife Ginger all of Clayton, New Mexico, Edward Trujillo of Mesa, Arizona and Chris Trujillo and his wife Marcia of Portales, New Mexico.

11 GRANDCHILDREN: Steven, Teresa, Jonathan, Anthony, Michael, Matthew, Kayle, Nicholas, Lindsey, Moriah and Shaye.

2 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Gavin Smith and Kennedy Trujillo

5 SISTERS: Jeanie Garcia and her husband George and Beatrice Padilla all of Guymon, Oklahoma, Helen Blan and her husband Jimmy of Waka, Texas, Molly Hackmaster and her husband Ronald of Sun City, Arizona and Connie Solis and her husband Servando of McKinney, Texas.

And numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

MEMORIALS: The family suggests that memorials be made in Daniel’s memory to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton.
