Joann Sara Trujillo 74, passed away at home on February 27, 2016.
She was born in Weston, CO on February 5, 1942 to Sadie (Torres) and Albert Gates. She was the owner/ operator of B&J’s Bar in Segundo for 20 years. After her husband passed in 1994, JoAnn moved to Trinidad where she worked for the Red Cross and in the cafeterias for School District #1.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her mother and father Sadie and Albert Gates, brothers Joe Gates, Rick Gates and John Torres, sisters Cookie Gates and Alice Duran.
Survivors include son Glen (Diantha) Trujillo, daughters Rose (Ralph) Trujillo, Tina (John) Montoya and Laurie Trujillo, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, brothers Dennis Gates, Ben (Anna) Gates, sisters Susan Gates and Loretta Gates Kelly, brothers and sisters-in-law Ernest (Julia) Trujillo, James (Yvonna) Trujillo, Chuck Trujillo, sisters-in-law Rita Trujillo, Mary Lou Trujillo, Isabel Trujillo, Susan Graffero, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Active pallbearers: Ernest Duran, Henry Trujillo, Dave Armijo, Ernie Trujillo, Reuben Torres and Mike Armijo.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 with Rosary at 1 PM at the Comi Chapel followed by the Funeral Mass at 2 PM at Sebastiani Gym.
At her request, cremation to follow with family inurnment at a later date.
