John Eugene Torres, age 72, passed away suddenly on February 21, 2016 in Arizona, while he was traveling to visit his sister.
He was born in Weston, CO on October 28, 1943 to Crisanta (Aragon) and John Torres.
He was employed by the Sheet Metal Union Local 170 for 40 years, retiring as President/Sec./Treasurer.
On July 3, 1965, John was united n marriage to Elveria E. Chavez at St. Ignatius Church in Segundo,, CO.
He served his country in the US Army in the motor pool division.
John was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Parish. He was a member of the Sociedad de Nuestra de Guadalupe, Knights of Columbus #1072 and the National Society of Hispanic Genealogy.
He loved to travel, cook,, listen to Mexican music, and do the genealogy on the Torres-Aragon families. His family was his first priority and he loved being with them.
Preceding him in death are parents, Crisanta and John Torres, brothers Alex Torres, Tony Torres, infant sister Vera, sisters Minnie Hurtado, Thelma Beasley, Alice Duran, Sadie Gate and son-in-law Sean McCarver.
Survivors are his wife Elveria E. Torres, children, John J. Torres (Jo Jo Cordero), Trinidad, Crisann (Marty) Coca, Trinidad, Manuel E. (Monica) Torres, Trinidad, Vanessa M. Torres, Seattle, grandchildren, Anthony C. Pedregon, John E. Torres, Ashley K. Pedregon, Manuel E. Torres, Alicia Torres, Angel Torres, Axel M. Pedregon, Nina S.C. Pedregon, Nadia N. Pedregon, Aidan T.E. Torres-Coca, Aimee M. Coca, great grandchildren, Jonathan Torres, Maleigha A. Pedregon , Julian Torres, sisters Mary (Marcelino) Trujillo, AZ, Joann Trujillo, Trinidad, brother-in-law Ernest Duran Pueblo, numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2PM-6PM at the Comi Chapel.
Rosary will be Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 7PM at Sebastiani Gym.
Funeral Mass will be Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 10AM at Sebastiani Gym.
Interment will follow at the Tercio Cemetery with graveside services conducted by the Ft. Carson Honor Guard.
Honorary pallbearers are Dante Jacobs, Steven Sandoval, George Titsworth, Tom Trujillo, Justice Dominguez, Sammy Torres and Salvador Ortiz.
Active pallbearers are Anthony Pedregon Sr. Anthony Pedregon, Axel Pedregon, Aidan Torres-Coca, Manuel Torres, John Torres and Angel Torres.
