WALSENBURG — The Walsenburg Police Department has instituted a citizen email information program that should keep local residents aware of police department programs and other information.
“ The purpose for this email list is to continue to provide the public with information about the police department, meetings, events, parades, street closures, and crime prevention,” WPD Captain Vince Suarez announced last week.
He said the department will continue to utilize social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, but recognized some community members do not participate in social media. “The Walsenburg Police Department will continue to find ways to make sure our citizens and business owners are kept up to date about what is happening in their neighborhoods and community,” Suarez said.
He said the department will closely watch the email program and a member of the department will respond back to those with questions or concerns via the new email program. “Your name and email address provided to the police department will not be shared or released to anyone outside the police department,” Suarez said.
Those interested on being on the email list may contact the Walsenburg Police Department and ask to be added to the email list at any time.
For more information you may come to the police department and speak with an officer at 525 S. Albert Ave, Walsenburg, CO or call us at 719-738-1056.
