APPROVES $166 MILLION IN CAPITAL OUTLAY
Legislation funds numerous projects in District 67
SANTA FE– State Representative Dennis Roch (R-67) voted this evening in favor of HB 219, a bill to allocate capital outlay funding statewide.
The bill, which passed the House unanimously and now awaits Senate action, spends $166 million on such statewide projects as the purchase of new school buses and police vehicles, facility upgrades at hospitals, water systems, road repair and safety improvements at hazardous dams.
Locally, HB 219 also directs funds to the following projects in House District 67:
- $2,000,000 for projects at Miners Colfax Medical Center in Raton
According to Shawn Lerch, CEO of MCMC, $1 million would be budgeted for MCMC LongTerm upgrades, mainly for HVAC and another $250,000 for Long Term cosmetic upgrades. The other $750,000 would go to the Acute Care for the Cardio/Pulmonary unit.
- $150,000 for street improvements in Raton
- $50,000 for renovations to the water treatment facility in Raton
- $100,000 for a groundwater monitoring well in Clayton
- $75,000 for records archiving equipment in Union County
- $35,000 for a vehicle for Union County
- $20,000 for road improvements in Mosquero
- $20,000 for water system improvements in Roy
“I consider it a great privilege to advocate for important projects throughout northeastern New Mexico,” said Roch, “which is why I was proud to support this legislation, which contains funding for so many of our area’s local priorities.”
