In Loving Memory of Elsie Teresa (Eccher) Scott

Elsie Teresa (Eccher) Scott, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 14, 2016 at the Trinidad Inn Nursing Home. She was born to Alberto and Maria (Costa) Eccher on July 27, 1925.

 

She is preceded in death by parents, her husband Glenn of 34 years until his passing, brothers, Fausto, Alex, Henry, Charlie Eccher, Mother In Law, Leota, Father In Law George (Isabella) Scott.

 

She was born in a brass bed in the rock house on the Eccher homestead.  After the passing of her parents at her young age, Elsie was raised by her brothers.  Elsie attended Chicosa School until the 8th grade, and moved on to Hoehne where she graduated.  After graduation, Elsie worked at the Mason Candy Company. 

 

She married Glenn Edward Scott, and had four children.  A son, Myron (Kathie) Scott, daughters, Doris (Ronald) Zamora, Gaylene DeCristino, and Sharon Sciacca.  Elsie had 11 grandchildren, Justin Scott, Jessica (Randy) Dalrick, Ronnie(Tiffany) Zamora,Crystal(Kevin)Martinez, Melinda(Dario)SanRoman, Mindy(Rhyan)Daugherty, Glenna(Martin)Zamora, Travis(Sarah)DeCristino, Randee DeCristino, Joshua(Andrea)Sciacca, Shannon(Aaron)Sciacca. Elsie also had 22 Great Grandchildren.

 

In her earlier years Elsie enjoyed taking care of her chickens, and always had a milk cow.  She hauled water almost all her life for the home, livestock, and garden.  She loved to sew, and take care of her yard and fruit trees.  She especially loved taking care of all of her dogs throughout the years, and is survived by her little pug “Peachie” that she dearly loved.

 

Elsie drove the school bus for 35 years for Trinidad School District until her retirement.  She lived at home until moving to the nursing home after a hip fracture.

 

Elsie will be missed at the nursing home by very special friend Ina Greenhill, and also Bill Morris.

 

Visitation will be Tuesday, from 3PM-7PM at the Comi Funeral Home Chapel.

 

 
Services will be held Wednesday January 20, 2016 with Rosary at 9:30 AM followed by Funeral Services at 10 AM with Jack Walton officiating both services  at the Comi Funeral Home Chapel.

 

Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Grandchildren, Randy Dalrick, Ronnie Zamora, Crystal Martinez, Travis DeCristino, Randee DeCristino and Joshua Sciacca.
