Freda Lenore Baca age 57, of Raton, NM, passed away Friday December 25, 2015 in Rio Rancho, NM. She was born October 24, 1958 in Santa Fe, NM, the daughter of Alfred Sr. and Martha Lopez- Garcia.
Freda was the Colfax County Clerk for the past three years, a member of St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, board member of the Alternatives to Violence, NM Association of Counties, and very active with the Relay for Life. She was the Secretary of the United Mine Workers of America Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her brother Anthony Garcia.
Freda is survived by daughter, Angela Volpato and husband Enrico of Albuquerque, NM, son Leonard Baca Jr. of Raton, mother and father Martha and Fred Sr. Garcia of Raton, sister Anna Waller of Pueblo, CO, two brothers Fred Garcia Jr. of Dalhart, TX, and Franklin Garcia of Raton, NM. Four grandchildren Tristan T Baca, Gabrielle L. Baca, Nicholas E. Volpato and Isabella Volpato.
Visitation will be Wednesday December 30, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be Thursday December 31, 2015 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton recited by Frank Cimino Jr..
Mass of the resurrection will follow at 10:00 A.M. with Father John Trambley as the Celebrant.
Arrangements and celebration of love for Freda Lenore Baca are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
My condolences go out to the family. Freda was always such a nice and happy person. She greeted everyone with a smile. She will be missed by all who knew her.
