Joseph “Buddy” Vukonich age 79 of Raton, NM, passed away Saturday December 19, 2015 in Raton.
He was born June 28, 1936 in Raton, the son of Steve and Antonia Milkovich-Vukonich.
Buddy was a retired electrician, owned and operated Raton Music, and was a veteran serving in the United States Navy. He was a volunteer fire fighter, a member of the UMWA, and a steal guitar player with the Night Riders. Buddy enjoyed spending time at his mountain property in Yankee.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Delvin Huffman.
Buddy is survived by his wife of fifty nine years, Helen of the home, daughter Tara Stosek and husband Tom of Beulah, CO, three sons, Steve Vukonich of Las Cruces, NM, Danny Vukonich and wife Beverly of Raton, and John Anthony Vukonich and wife Marguerita of Farmington, NM. One sister, Gayle Huffman of Woodland Hills, CA and one brother Michael Vukonich and wife Kathy of Raton. Six grandchildren Kylie McGill and husband Sean, Kaycie Vukonich, Kori Vukonich, Joe Stosek, Sam Stosek, Jerrica Vukonich, one great grandson, Jameson McGill, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
By request of the family cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
