Shirley Turner age 80 passed away peacefully in her sleep November 21, 2015 at Miners Colfax Medical Center.
Shirley was born in Springer, New Mexico on August 1, 1935 to John and Chattie Little of Farley, NM. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Perry Turner, brothers Jack, Jay and Presley and one sister Mary Jo.
She is survived by her brother Billy Little of Denver, CO, sister Ardell Jeffryes of Raton, NM, daughter Tana Garcia and husband Orlando of Springer, NM, son Larry Turner of Kiowa, CO, grandson Jerrid Turner, Randy Turner, and Jesse Garcia, granddaughters Tiana Garcia, Mardee Turner, Danielle Ziegler, and Ashleigh Garcia. Shirley also has 9 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley moved to Raton, went to school and was a cheerleader. She waitressed at the Melody Lane, and that is where she met and married Perry Turner. She was a great wife and homemaker. Shirley and Perry were married for 45 years. They had 1 daughter, Tana and 1 son Larry.
Shirley was a dedicated Denver Broncos fan. She never missed a game. She loved to play bingo at the Senior citizens Center and later at the Colfax General Long Term Care Nursing Home in Springer. Shirley loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had lots of friends who loved her very much. Her family loves her so much and will miss her greatly.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held for Shirley on December 12, 2015 at 1:00pm at the Outreach Tabernacle in Springer, New Mexico. Join us to celebrate her life and following the services a dinner will be served.
