Sandra J. “Sandy” Sink went to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 16, at the Clayton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long and hard fought battle with cancer and finally succumbed to the ravage of the disease with Bill and Dusty by her side, holding her hand as she passed. She was 68 years young, born on October 4, 1947, in Amarillo, TX to the late Bill and Oleta French of Stratford, TX and later of Capulin, NM. She grew up in Stratford, TX and graduated from high school there in 1966. She always said “you can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take the Texas out of the girl.” Texas was her home, but she followed the love of her life, Bill Sink, to New Mexico. She loved working at the Senior Center in Des Moines and loved all her people there. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and canning the fruits of her labor. She liked to paint and do arts and crafts and gave most of her work to others. She was proud of being an accomplished artist. She is survived by her husband, Bill Sink of the home; her son Dustin Bridges of Rock Hill, South Carolina; 2 Step-Sons, Douglas Sink of Liberty, Utah and Shane Sink of Raton, New Mexico; 3 Grandchildren she adored, Savannah Bridges and Charlie Bridges of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Cooper Hall Bridges of Pensacola, Florida; 2 Sisters-in-law, Gwen Wingo and Mignon Saddoris of Grenville, New Mexico, and 2 Brothers-in-law, Jimmy Saddoris of Grenville, New Mexico and Roger Sink of Portales, New Mexico, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved dearly. Her Family and friends were near and dear to her heart and she was happiest when she was cooking a big meal for them. She always said the best things in life were free and some of her best times were in her garden, nurturing her flowers and playing with her cats. She believed the greatest accomplishment in her life was the birth of her son, and the greatest love of her life was her husband, Bill Sink. When she felt her spirit was broken, she would read Proverbs 15:13 and it would renew her spirit. She felt to live in the hearts of those we leave behind is to not die, but to truly live forever.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton, NM, with Rev.
