Orlando “Tedi”(nickname given him by his dad) Rossetti age 87 of Raton, NM, passed away Thursday November 12, 2015 in Raton. He was born June 20, 1928 in Dawson, NM, the son of Nickola and Francis Amejuiras-Rossetti. Tedi moved to Raton at the age of 2, he attended Catholic school his first grade and fifth and sixth grade years ,attended Longfellow school for the third and fourth grade and Raton High School seventh through twelfth grade where he played football and basketball for three years, where he held the best record for wins in the high school history winning twenty eight out of thirty games losing to Albuquerque High School and the state championship to Carlsbad. The first horse Raton had Tedi was working at the pad dock.
After graduating high school he went tp work in the oil fields in Texas and married Joyce McCormick February 16, 1948 , he worked for Superior Oil of Midland Texas from 1947 until 1958. Tiring of the oil fields they moved home to Raton wher he worked for the Highway Department, and then worked for Wonder Bread for twenty three years. He is a member of the Raton Elks Lodge, and a fourth degree Knight with the Raton Knight of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother John Rossetti, sisters, Mary Rosetti and Angie Torrez, infant daughter, Rennie and son-in-law David Floyd.
Tedi is survived by his wife of 67 years Joyce of the home, six children, Alandra Sue Floyd of Raton, NM, Ronnie Lee Rossetti and wife Carolyn of Arvada, CO, Debbie Marie Vigil and husband Joe of Pueblo, CO, Julie Osborn and husband Gerald of Raton, NM, John Anthony Rossetti and wife Annette of Pingree Grove, IL and Richard Kip Rossetti and wife Sandra of San Diego, CA.
Visitation will be Thursday November 19, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be Friday November 20, 2015 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church recited by the Knights of Columbus, Mass o the resurrection will follow at 10:00 A.M. with Father John Trambley as the celebrant, rite of Christian Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton. A reception will follow at the church hall.
