Life time Raton Resident Eva Romero passed away on Thursday November 12, 2015 at Miners Colfax Medical Center after a brief illness with her Loving Father and her loving family by her side.
She was born on December 20, 1919 in Raton to Alejandro and Manuelita Bargas. Eva married the love of her life Andy on July 2, 1939. Into this union was born one son and one daughter, Alex and Veronica.
Eva is survived by her children and their spouses, daughter-in-law Irene and son-in-law Mike Lucero, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, one sister Jennie Martinez, sister-in-law Mary Bargas, many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
Eva in preceded in death by her parents, husband Andy in 2005, sister Mary and brother Pete and niece Erlinda Martinez.
Eva was a member of St. Patrick’s/ St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for all of her life. She also belonged to the Legion of Mary, St. Anthony’s and the Alter Society. Her hobbies were sewing, crocheting, baking, and sharing her beautiful hand work and goodies.
A viewing will be held for Eva on Tuesday November 17th from 2 to 4 pm in the Alderette Pomeroy Funeral Home Chapel. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on Wednesday November 18th at 9:30 am followed by the Solemn Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 am with Father John Trambley as the Celebrant.
Rite of Committal and Interment will be Monday, November 23, 2015 at 10:00am at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton.
Arrangements for Eva Romero are under the care and direction of the Alderette Pomeroy Funeral Home of Raton.
