Ophelia Sanchez passed away in Colorado Springs on November 7, 2015 after a short illness. She was 92 years old.
Ophelia was born in Tercio and had been a long-time resident of Trinidad. She was married to the late Bonnie Sanchez, also of Trinidad. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was always ready to do anything for her family.
Ophelia was a parishioner of Mount Carmel and Holy Trinity Catholic Churches. She and Bonnie were both active in the Senora de Nuestra de Guadalupe.
Ophelia is survived by: Sister, Ruby Marquez of Colorado Springs, Daughter, Mary Jane Rhodes, her husband Ray of Houston and grandsons Christopher and Jonathan and wife Kalie, Son, Filbert Sanchez and granddaughters Samantha, Veronica, and Kalie of Lakewood, Daughter, Shirley Sanchez of Colorado Springs, Daughter, Yvonne Bierne, her husband Andy, granddaughters Bonnie Lee and Lindsay, and grandson Ryan of Las Vegas, Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be at the Comi Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 11th from 3:00 t0 7:00 PM and will followed by the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at the chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Thursday, November 12th at 10:00 AM followed by interment with Rite of Committal at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
