Charette Lakes: Closed for the season.
Cimarron River: Stream flow on Monday below Eagle Nest was 22 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Conchas Lake: Fishing was fair using spinner baits, tubes, jigs and drop shot rigs for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Fishing was slow to fair using slab spoons and blade baits for white bass. Anglers using blade baits also caught a few walleye. Fishing for catfish was slow but a few were caught by anglers using liver and shrimp. We had no reports on other species. The surface water temp was in the low to mid 60s.
Cowles Ponds: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Coyote Creek: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Eagle Rock Lake: Fishing was good using small Daredevles, crank baits and PowerBait for trout.
Eagle Nest Lake: Trout fishing was fair to good using PowerBait, salmon eggs, Platte River specials, Pistol Petes and worms. Fishing was fair to good using worms for perch. There was no snagging action reported but a few kokanee were caught by anglers fishing for trout. We had no reports on northern pike.
Gallinas River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Hopewell Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using gold spoons for trout.
Lake Alice: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Maloya: Fishing was very good using gold spoons for rainbow trout up to 26 inches in length. A few are also being caught by anglers using PowerBait.
Los Pinos: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Maxwell Lake 13: Closed for the season.
Monastery Lake: Fidel Contreras reported trout fishing was good using PowerBait, floating worms and salmon eggs.
Morphy Lake: Closed for the season.
Pecos River: Stream flow on Monday was 64 cfs. Trout fishing was good using egg patterns, San Juan worms, salmon eggs, PowerBait and worms. We had no reports on catfish.
Red River: Stream flow below the hatchery on Monday was 50 cfs. Fishing was fair to good using San Juan worms, poundmeisters, copper John Barrs, PowerBait, red worms and salmon eggs for trout.
Rio Costilla: Stream flow on Monday near Costilla was 16 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Grande: Stream flow on Monday at the Taos Junction Bridge was 286 cfs. Fishing was fair using wooly buggers, copper John Barrs, spinners, PowerBait, salmon eggs and night crawlers for trout. Fishing was slow to fair using big streamers and spinners for northern pike. We had no reports on other species.
Rio Hondo: Stream flow on Monday was 16 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Pueblo: Stream flow near Penasco was 18 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Santa Barbara: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Santa Cruz Reservoir: Fishing was fair using small PowerBait, salmon eggs and worms for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Shuree Ponds: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Springer Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.
Storrie Lake: Fishing was fair using PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Stubblefield Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Ute Lake: Fishing was slow and fishing pressure was light. A few walleye and white bass were caught by anglers using slab spoons at depths of 36 to 40 feet. The surface water temp was in the low 60s.
Winsor Creek: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Northwest
Abiquiu Lake: Kokanee snagging opened Oct. 1 and runs through Dec. 31. There have been no signs of kokanee for snagging. Fishing was fair to good using senkos, 4-inch tubes and deep diving crank baits for smallmouth bass. The best action was in the mid-morning hours. We had no reports on other species. The surface water temp was in the low 60s.
Animas River: Water flow near Aztec on Monday morning was 447 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Albuquerque Area Drains: Fishing in the Belen Drain was slow to fair using worms and liver for catfish. We had no reports from the other drains.
Bluewater Lake: Fishing was very good using PowerBait, worms, Pistol Petes under a bubble and salmon eggs for trout. Fishing for tiger musky was slow but a few were caught by anglers using large spoons and spinner baits. We had no reports on other species.
Brazos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Canjilon Lakes: Closed by the U.S. Forest Service until further notice due to danger from falling trees.
Chama River: Kokanee snagging opened Oct. 1 and runs through Dec. 31 on that section of river from El Vado Lake to the west boundary of the Chama River Wildlife and Fishing Area. We had no reports of kokanee snagging this week. Monday morning water flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 76 cfs and 84 cfs respectively. Fishing below El Vado was fair using egg patterns, copper John Barrs, salmon eggs, PowerBait and night crawlers for brown and rainbow trout and an occasional cutthroat. Fishing below Abiquiu was fair to good using egg patterns, copper John Barrs, salmon eggs and worms.
Cochiti Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using tubes, jigs, vilecraws and crank baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair trolling crank baits for white bass. We had no reports on other species. The surface temp was in the low 60s.
El Vado Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Fenton Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait, salmon eggs, spoons, Pistol Petes, small streamers and worms for brown and rainbow trout. Angel Luria caught a 19.75-inch brown trout Nov. 1. He was using a salmon egg PowerBait combination
Heron Lake: Closed to kokanee snagging here and at Willow Creek until Nov.12. No kokanee may be in possession at either location during the closure. Reopens to salmon snagging Nov. 13 through Dec. 31. Fishing was fair using red worms and pink PowerBait for rainbow trout.
Jackson Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Jemez Waters: Stream flow near Jemez on Monday morning was 30 cfs. Fishing on the Jemez was fair to good using worms, salmon eggs, San Juan worms, copper John Barrs and egg patterns for trout. Fishing on the San Antonio was good using San Juan worms, hares ears and copper John Barrs for a mixed bag of rainbow and brown trout. We had no reports from other streams in the area.
Laguna Del Campo: Closed for the season.
Lake Farmington: We had no reports from anglers this week. Nonmotorized watercraft are now allowed on Lake Farmington. Fees are $50 for the season or $5 daily.
Manzano Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Navajo Lake: Kokanee snagging opened Oct. 1 and runs through Dec. 31. The north side of the Pine Main boat ramp and the surrounding no wake zone has reopened to anglers. Snagging was good near the dam and near the boat ramp. Fishing was slow for catfish but a few were caught by anglers using liver and roe sacs near the snagging areas. Fishing was fair using jigs, grubs, tubes, and deep diving crank baits for smallmouth bass. A few largemouth bass were caught by anglers using deep diving crank baits and jigs. Fishing for rainbow trout was fair using roe sacs, PowerBait, salmon eggs and spinners. We had no reports on other species. The surface water temp was in the low to mid 60s.
San Gregorio Lake: Fishing was slow.
San Juan: Water flow below Navajo Lake on Monday morning was 438 cfs. Fishing through the Quality Water section was good using fore and aft midges, BWOs, Griffith’s gnats, pheasant tails, RS2s, parachute Adams and midge clusters. There were some strong midge hatches throughout the day this past week which made for great dry fly fishing. Fishing through the bait waters was good using salmon eggs, night crawlers, spinners, RS2s, copper John Barrs and San Juan worms.
Seven Springs Brood Pond: Fishing was very good using red worms, spoons, salmon eggs and PowerBait for a mixed bag of brown and rainbow trout.
Tingley Beach: Fishing the Central Pond was fair using PowerBait, salmon eggs and worms for trout. Fishing at the Youth Pond was good using PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout. We had no reports from the Bob Gerding Catch and Release Pond.
Trout Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Southwest
Alumni Pond: Fishing was slow for all species.
Bear Canyon: Fishing was good using PowerBait, salmon eggs, worms and garlic cheese for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Bill Evans Lake: Fishing was fair to good using worms, PowerBait and spinners for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Caballo Lake: Fishing was slow for all species. Fishing pressure was light.
Elephant Butte Lake: Fishing was fair to good using spoons and blade baits for white bass. Fishing was fair using liver and shrimp for catfish. Fishing was slow to fair using tubes, jigs, crank baits and spoons for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. We had no reports on other species.
Escondida Lake: Fishing was slow for all species
Gila River: Stream flow as of Monday morning was 157 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Glenwood Pond: Fishing was very good using PowerBait, salmon eggs and Rooster Tails and small spoons for trout.
Lake Roberts: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Percha Dam: Fishing was slow for all species.
Quemado Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Grande: Stream flow below Elephant Butte as of Monday morning was .17cfs. We had no reports from anglers in this area or below Caballo.
Snow Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Young Pond: Fishing was slow for all species.
Southeast
Bataan Lake: Fishing was good using worms for bluegill and perch. We had no reports on other species.
Black River: Stream flow at Malaga on Monday was 32 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Blue Hole Park Pond: Fishing was slow for all species. Fishing pressure was light.
Bonito Lake: Closed until further notice by the city of Alamogordo due to fire damage.
Bosque Redondo: Darrin Burns of Ft. Sumner reported good fishing here last week as he caught four largemouth bass and a large bluegill in an hour and a half of fishing. He was using a jitterbug.
Bottomless Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week. The Devil’s Inkwell was stocked this past week.
Brantley Lake: Anglers should practice catch-and-release for all fish here as high levels of pesticides have been found in some fish. Fishing was good using tubes, flukes, crank baits, spinner baits and jigs for largemouth bass. Fishing was fair using beef liver, hot dogs and worms for catfish. Fishing was good using crank baits for white bass. We had no reports on other species.
Carlsbad Municipal Lake: Fishing was fair to good using worms, hares ears and flashback pheasant tails for small sunfish. Fishing was fair using worms for small perch. Fishing was fair to good using worms and PowerBait for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Chaparral Park Lake: Fishing was slow for all species. Fishing pressure was very light.
El Rito Creek: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Eunice Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.
Green Meadow Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Greene Acres Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Grindstone Reservoir: Fishing was fair using PowerBait, garlic cheese, marshmallows and salmon eggs for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Jal Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.
Lake Van: Fishing was slow for all species.
Oasis Park Lake: Fishing was slow for all species. Fishing pressure continued to be very light.
Pecos River: Stream flow below Sumner Lake as of Monday morning was .31cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Perch Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.
Ruidoso River: Stream flow at Hollywood on Monday was 7.5cfs. Trout fishing was slow.
Santa Rosa Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using tubes, craws and jigs for smallmouth bass. Most of the bass caught were small. Fishing for walleye and crappie was slow but a few were caught by anglers using minnows, night crawlers and spoons. Fishing was slow to fair using liver and night crawlers for catfish. We had no reports on other species. A water release has begun. Expect the lake level to drop some over the next several days.
Sumner Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using tubes, craws, jigs and plastic worms for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair trolling crank baits for white bass and an occasional walleye. We had no reports on other species. Expect fishing conditions to change over the next several days as the flow downstream has been shut off and an influx of water is expected from Santa Rosa Lake.
