RATON — Monday, October 26, 2015, marked the last golf tournament in the fall series for Raton High School. The team, which is comprised of 10 players, is well represented by students from grades 8 to 12. Coached by David Swanson, the RHS Golf team has been participating in one tournament a week for the past six weeks.
Swanson, who has been coaching the team for the past 7 years, remains dedicated to the sport of golf as he realizes how important it is to continue giving the students the opportunity to learn through this sport. Golf, especially for children, builds character, instills life-enhancing values, and promotes healthy choices both psychologically and physically.
The RHS Golf team had the privilege of playing at golf courses in Los Alamos, Taos, Las Vegas, and Albuquerque. The RHS golfers enjoy playing together both on and off the fairways, which is just another one of the many benefits of being avid young golfers. We look forward to their enthusiasm and lower scores when the new spring series begins.
