In Loving Memory of Francis Leon Hanson

Francis Leon Hanson age 68, a resident of Roy, New Mexico passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015 in Roy, New Mexico.

He was born on January 11, 1950 to John Wesley Hanson and Frances Sanchez Hanson in Lubbock, Texas.

He was a truck driver for Barrett Gold Mine. Francis was a football player for Roy High School- state champions for four years. He also loved to hunt and cook.

A Catholic, he was a member of Holy Family Church in Roy, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Fidel and Andreita Sanchez, step-father Alfred Sandoval, numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his mother Frances Sandoval of the family home in Roy, NM, brother John Wesley Hanson and wife Prescilla Gonzales of Roy, NM, nephew Bobby Hanson and wife Karen of Rio Rancho, NM, niece Leslie Hanson and Eric of Pueblo, CO, great niece and nephew Mariah and Adam Hanson of Rio Rancho, NM.

Rosary service will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 8:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Funeral Mass will follow at 9:00 am also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Douglas Mitchell as Celebrant. Serving as Casket Bearers will be Victor Montoya, Gerard Sanchez, Marvin Mackey, Edward Ebell, Nash Montoya and Matthew Montoya. Cremation will take place after services and burial of cremains will be held at a later date at Holy Family Cemetery in Roy, New Mexico.
