In Loving Memory of Tom Kiesling

Tom Kiesling, age 68, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Terrell Jones, pastor of the Trinity Fellowship Church in Clayton, officiating. Burial will follow on the Kiesling Ranch near Mt. Dora, New Mexico by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Tom Kiesling was born on September 22, 1947 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Otto and Evelyn Kiesling. He grew up in the Amana Colonies in Iowa and graduated from Amana High School in 1965. He then attended the University of Iowa and graduated in 1970 with his B.A. in Sociology.

 
Tom married Toni (Fletcher) Kiesling on September 22, 1973 in Amana, Iowa. They moved to the Mt. Dora area in 1982 where they have lived and ranched for the past 33 years.
 
kieslingTom loved spending time with his children and granddaughter and his favorite horse Dunne. He had his pilots license and loved to fly, especially in his powered parachute with the Fat Wing Flyers. Tom was a Cattleman and his favorite quote was “There are cowboys, there are cattlemen and there are men who own cattle.”
 
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter; Jenny Yohanna Kiesling on July 28, 1991 and a brother; William Kiesling.

WIFE: Toni Kiesling Mt. Dora, New Mexico.

1 SON: Clay Kiesling and his wife Andrea of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

1 GRANDDAUGHTER: Liliana Kiesling of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

1 BROTHER: David Kiesling and his partner Stephen Nathan of Goodyear, Arizona.

MEMORIALS: In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Tom’s memory to your favorite locally operated scholarship fund.
