Lifetime Raton resident Joe F. Apache of Raton, born January 7th , 1940 to the parents of Joseph Wyandotte Apache and Mary Cercone Apache passed away unexpectedly October 4th, 2015 with his family by his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Apache, his father-in-law Lloyd (Gabby) Le Fleur, his sister Marilyn and her husband Bobby Valdez of Albuquerque, brother-in-law Billy Holland, brother-in-law Bruce Berry and grandson David Joseph Apache.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie of the family home, daughter Tracy Treat of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and her son Trey, son Kevin Apache of Raton and his children Shelby and Joseph, daughter Kristee and husband Leroy Fernandez of Raton and their children Toni Ann, Whitney and Zach, daughter Kara and husband Rick Roberts of Raton and their children Jillian and Hillary. Sisters Michael Ann Holland, Bonnee and husband Gary Boggs, Geralyn and husband Joe Pais, Stephanie and husband Mike Phillips, sister-in-law Marcia Stevens. Eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Joe also had many great friends from many places.
The Apache family gives many thanks for all the love and support we have received. A special thanks to Linda Gallegos for going beyond. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to a charity of your choice.
Pall bearers are Joe Apache, Zach Fernandez, Henry Fernandez, Christopher Manfredi, Gary Smith and Kevin Apache. Honorary pall bearers are Henry Fanelli, Jahmiel Sawaya, Roy Manfredi, Leroy Fernandez, Rick Roberts, Isaac Garcia, Isaiah Garcia, B.J. Holland, Dereck Holland, P.J. Mileta, Vince Mares and Terry Sisneros.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015, recited by Frank Cimino at 9:30 A.M. at St. Patrick-St. Joseph’s Church in Raton. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick-St. Joseph’s Church with Father John Trambley as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements and a celebration of love for Joe. F. Apache are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
