Rose Mary (Kimber) Girard, age 81, A long time resident of Nara Visa, New Mexico passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015 in Logan, New Mexico.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Central Time on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nara Visa, New Mexico. Rose Mary (Kimber) Girard was born on February 4, 1934 in Ione, New Mexico to Clarence Edward Kimber and Mary Marguerite (Swords) Kimber. She was the oldest of nine children and grew up working on the family farm near Amistad where she met her husband, Lloyd Eldon Girard. They were married on May 23, 1952 and they would spend over 55 loving years together until his death on June 14, 2008. They made their home in Rosebud until 1957 when they moved to Nara Visa. Rose Mary was a mother and a homemaker until the 1970’s when she started working as a waitress and later went to work full time for the New Mexico State Highway Department in Nara Visa until retiring in the mid 1990’s. She loved nature, and could always be found taking a long walk with her dogs in the mornings and evenings. Rose Mary was a devout Catholic, and during her later years, took great pride in maintaining and caring for the Catholic church in Nara Visa. A recent fond memory was mom celebrating her 80th birthday with all of her brothers and sisters and many other family members and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Rose Mary was preceded in death by a daughter; Elaine Girard Quarles.

1 SON: David Girard and his wife Lois of Nara Visa, New Mexico.
2 DAUGHTERS: Tera Girard of Tucumcari, New Mexico and Donna Miller and her husband Larry of San Diego, California.
9 GRANDCHILDREN: Aaron Quarles and his wife Sarah, Dalice Quarles, Gil Girard and his wife Rachel, Brook Boggs and his wife Randa, Adam Girard and his wife Jessica, Hailee Miller-Glynn, Brett Boggs, Britnee Leyba and her husband Scott and Tiffany Girard.
7 great-grandchildren.
4 SISTERS: Patricia Parman of Kerrville, Texas, Emilie Underwood and her husband Cris of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Shirley Baines and her husband David of Prince George, British Columbia, Canada and Barbara Stewart and her husband Doug of Midland, Texas.
4 BROTHERS: Richard Kimber and his wife Rose of Clayton, New Mexico, Eddie Kimber and his wife Gertrud of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Gary Kimber of Fesno, California and Chester Kimber and his wife Yolanda of Amistad, New Mexico.
A Brother and Sister-in-law: Vernon and Carol Girard of Nara Visa, New Mexico.
A Nephew, Gary Girard of Nara Visa and a number of other nieces and nephews and friends.
