Coach Tina Dorrance said “We have to figure out how to play a complete match just not a game or two.” as the Lady Tigers played two good games and went up 2-0 over the Lady Panthers Friday evening in Tiger Gym.
This was the second match for the two teams this season with Pecos taking the first match 3-2. The Lady Tigers pulled out in front during the first game and never looked back as they worked their way to 25-18 win with good solid play at the net and in the back court.
Game two got under way with the Lady Tigers once again pulling out in front and lost a seven point lead to tie at 18 and again at 22 before they manage to pull out and take the game 25-22. Game three however was a much different story as the Lady Tigers fell behind after tying the game at 5 and again at 8. Pecos pulled away and won that game 25-18.
Game four was one of the heartbreaking games where Pecos pulled away from Raton as Raton made mistake after mistake. Coach Dorrance said it seemed like when Raton made one mistake it turned into six. Raton was down 20-10 and put together a 10 run streak to tie the game at 20. Raton could only put another point on the board before Pecos ended it at 25-21.
In game four the mistakes again added up as Pecos pulled away and won the deciding game 15-8.
