TRINIDAD — Books & More, the largest bookstore in Trinidad and the surrounding area, located at 132 N. Commercial Street, opened in February of 2012 and is run by the Friends of the Library and volunteers, with all profits benefiting the Trinidad Library and supporting the Children’s Summer Reading Program.
This charming non-profit bookstore not only has thousands of categorized books to choose from at bargain prices, but also offers other items such as video tapes, DVD’s, CD’s, talking books, greeting cards, artwork, and pottery. They have a large children’s section, a teen section, large print books, and a huge selection of fiction and non-fiction. If you are looking for some great reading material, check out Books & More first. You may find what you are looking for in “your own backyard.”
Look for the many specials they offer, such as Seniors Day on the first Friday of every month for a 50% discount. They often have “bag sales” and discounts on specific book categories. Check out the discounts offered when you become a member of the Friends of the Library; 10% off for a one year membership and 20% off for a lifetime membership. When you make a purchase at the store you can enter a monthly drawing to win a $5 gift certificate to use on a future purchase. They also have their “Hot Sheet” service, which allows you to sign up to be contacted when a specific book you are looking for comes in. And you are welcome to just drop in and read the local newspapers if you are not in the mood to browse or shop.
Donations of books and other items is what keeps this fine bookstore in business. If you have any of the above items scheduled to recycle, please give them a second life at Books & More. No encyclopedia sets or damaged books please.
Volunteers also keep the store in business. If you are interested in volunteering, you can come in and sign up, or contact the store at 719-846-8522 or bookstore.trinidad@yahoo.com.
