PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) — The Colorado State Patrol says a teen driver killed after crashing into a parked U-Haul truck along Interstate 25 near
Pueblo had been speeding and driving aggressively before the crash.
The accident happened Sunday afternoon. A Toyota Camry driven by 18-year-old Isaiah Tafoya of Walsenburg crashed into the truck, which was having mechanical problems.
Tafoya died after being taken to the hospital. The U-Haul driver, 57-year-old Andrew Stevens of Tacoma, Washington, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Trooper Art Gumke (GUM’-key) says witnesses reported that Tafoya had been speeding before the crash before driving onto the shoulder and ultimately colliding with the truck.
