In Loving Memory of Abigail “Abbie” Moreno-Perea

Abbie Perea passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on August 5, 2015 in Thornton, Colorado at the age of 56.

Abbie was born & raised in Trinidad, Co but moved away at age 18 to pursue her dreams. She was blessed with the birth of 2 sons.  In 1989, she & the boys united in marriage with Arthur Perea and began their lives together in Thornton, Co. Abbie was a devoted wife & mother who loved her family. To Abbie, family was everything. She was the glue that held the family unit together.  

Abbie spent her professional career working in retail management but her true craft was baking with a flair for cupcake & cake decorating.  She started a small business, “Sweeties” that provided baked goods for birthdays, weddings, & special occasions. Through this business, her passion shined in her beautiful creations.  

Abbie always had a special way of showing her love to her numerous nieces, nephews, & 5 Godchildren: Montana Duran, Leonard “LJ” Moreno, Jr., Dominic Gonzales, Destiny Sanchez, & Angel Perea.

Abbie was a generous woman with a unique talent for providing emotional support to everyone who met her.  She always had time to talk, listen, and give the best rational advice. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Abbie is survived by her husband: Arthur Perea, Thornton; Children: Clint Thompson, Denver; Nick Thompson, Denver; Mother: Bernice Martinez, Trinidad; Siblings: Richard Moreno, Pueblo; Leonard Moreno, Pueblo, Dennis Moreno, Co. Springs; Sally Martinez, Trinidad; Sherri (Dave) Bacharach, Trinidad; Roberta (Naamon) Owens, Denver. She is preceded  in death by her Grandfather Jose Eloy Gonzales, Trinidad, & Stepfather Leo B. Garcia, Albuquerque.

Visitation is scheduled for 3-6pm on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 @ Comi Funeral Chapel 1804 E Main St. Trinidad, Co., with a Rosary @ Holy Trinity Church 235 Convent; 7PM.

Funeral will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 @ Holy Trinity Church at 10AM.

Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
