Leopoldo Alonzo Sanchez, age 91, passed away peacefully, July 1, 2015, with his loving family at his side.
He was born April 26, 1924 in Troy, CO, to Felipe and Eloise (Trujillo) Sanchez.
He proudly served his country in the US Army, having been stationed in Italy during WWII.
He owned a stucco business in California and Colorado and enjoyed working on his farm in El Moro. The joys of his life were music, dancing and playing his guitar and the piano.
Preceding him in death are parents, brother Jose Sanchez, sisters, Corina Mestas and Martha Rodriguez.
Survived by his loving daughters, Sandra Romero (Joe Rodriguez), Pueblo, CO, Roxanna (Ken) Alfonso, Trinidad, CO, grandchildren, Lisa Dan) Abeyta, Anna (Eric) Gonzalez, Tammy (Kevin) Mazzara, Denise Romero (Joey Casados), Joey Waggoner, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson, siblings, Geneva Zamora, Lionel (Caroline) Sanchez, numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving is the mother of his daughters, Margaret Valdez, special God daughter Susy Rodriguez and farming buddy, Bob Waggoner.
At his request, private inurnment at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery with military honors.
