On June 2 – 4, 2015, the New Mexico Motor Transportation Police participated in the 28th annual “International Roadcheck” campaign. “International Roadcheck” is an annual three-day event in which certified inspectors conduct commercial motor vehicle (CMV) compliance, enforcement, and educational initiatives designed to collect valuable inspection information.
During the campaign, law enforcement agencies across the United States, Canada, and Mexico are united to educate drivers and motor carriers, check for compliance with federal, state, and provincial CMV regulations, and collect inspection data for year-to-year comparisons.
For this year’s state-wide operation, the New Mexico Motor Transportation Police conducted 832 commercial motor vehicle inspections, issued 354 citations for various violations, placed 294 drivers/vehicles out of service, and made 8 arrests.
