At the age of 88, on June 3, 2015 Josie Esquibel passed away peacefully at Los Palomas Center in Albuquerque with many loving arms around her.
Josie was born on October 8, 1926 to Vicente Gallegos and Simonita Medina Gallegos. She married Secundino Esquibel in 1945 and made their home in Roy, New Mexico.
She is survived by sons, Leo and Del Esquibel of Albuquerque, Richard and Linda Esquibel of Farmington, Secundino Jr and Carla Esquibel of Roy, James Esquibel and Elma of Roy, Roy and Carol Esquibel of Chesapeake VA, Philip Esquibel and Joyce of Albuquerque, daughters; Chris and Ron Robinson, Evelyn and Gilbert Speakman both of Albuquerque and Anita and Martin Gonzales of Santa Rosa, NM. She is
also survived by brothers Eusibio Gallegos, Amadeo Gallegos, Laudiente Gallegos, sisters, Maria Gonzales and Onofre Geiman: along with dozens of grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Secundino, infant daughters, Pauline and Bernice, son, Thomas Esquibel and daughter, Lucille Esquibel Pacheco.
Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish in Roy on Tuesday June 9, with a Rosary at 10:30 followed with a mass and burial at the Roy Cemetery with Father C. John Brasher officiating. Casket Bearers will be James Esquibel, Phillip Esquibel, Secundino Esquibel Jr., Leo Esquibel, Roy Esquibel Richard Esquibel and Peter Quintana Jr.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, our rock, our guide and our blessing.
