Joe Santos Acevedo left this world peacefully with his daughters and Nurse Robin at his bedside on May 12, 2015 in Raton, NM. He was born May 18, 1919 in Morley, CO the son of Joe and Eloisa Moya Acevedo.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bertha, daughter Olivia and two sons Joe (Speed) and Eugene (Scrooge), daughter-in-law Mary Acevedo and grandsons Julian and Frankie.
He is survived by his two daughters Judy Acevedo and Carolyn Acevedo of Raton, son-in-law George Armijo of California and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will take place Saturday May 30th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church recited by Deacon Thomas Alderette. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Father John Trambley as the celebrant. Rite of committal and inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
