The Lady Tigers shut out the Lady Rattlers Thursday afternoon, April 30th at Jim Wade Field continuing their dominance in District 5/6AAA softball.
With this win the Ladies remain undefeated in the district having run the table with a perfect 8-0 district mark. The girls defense held tight in the first inning and then let the bats take over. Tucumcari helped matters with numerous errors as ball were missed and throws went wide scoring six in the first.
Raton pitcher Natasha Archuleta struggled a little in the second walking a batter. With two on base however things turned and the Ladies held on tight preventing the runners from advancing past third base. Again the bats came alive and by the end of the second inning Raton was on top 15-0.
The third inning saw Tucumcari threaten again advancing runners as far as third base before Archuleta struck the final batter out.
The ladies will play Logan Tuesday afternoon, a game that had to be rescheduled due to weather this week.
