The City of Raton with New Mexico MainStreet and Raton MainStreet/Arts and Cultural District invite the public to join them for an Open House on Monday, April 20th at 4 pm and for a presentation at 5:30 pm regarding the 1st Street Great Blocks Project. Both events will take place at the former Tool Shed at 138 South 1st Street in Raton.
City representatives and Project Team members will share their proposed plans for renovations to historic First Street (between Rio Grande and Park Avenues) including sidewalk repair and renovation, ADA compliance, streetscape improvements and public art.
The Open House is from 4 pm -5 pm with the public presentation scheduled for 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm. Also on Monday, April 20th, Cabinet Secretary of NM Economic Development, Jon Barela, will be at the Shuler Theater at 3:30 pm. The public is invited and encouraged to come hear Barela as his office says he is going to to make an announcement that will positively affect the future of downtown Raton.
