In Loving Memory of David Zambrano

David Zambrano, age 53, died 53, died on Monday, April 13, 2015.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Kyle Bueermann, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, New Mexico by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

David was extremely loved by his family, he spent much of his childhood in Clayton and parts of Kansas, but most of the memories he shared about growing up were of Clayton. He visited often, cherishing the love and companionship of his close friends and family. David had a son named Jacob. He later met Suzanne Cordova in Fort Sumner and the couple would later marry. They and their two sons, Andrew and Elijah, eventually made their home in Belen. David strived to support his family, often traveling long distances and grinding daily commutes for his job as a professional tile setter. It was in this capacity that David left his mark throughout New Mexico and the surrounding states. He helped to tile so many buildings, it is impossible to list them all. Most notably, his legacy lives on in the massive tile work at the Albuquerque Airport, the Embassy Suites hotel in downtown Albuquerque, the prison in Clayton, a movie theater in Santa Fe, and the glorious new courthouse in Los Lunas. Let’s not forget the many homes of friends and relatives which also sport David’s tile work. David had a meekness about him, but some of you know about those times he did come out to “perform” for you (after much bribing). Yes, there are some pictures out there and we felt compelled to share some of them in the memorial video. This is a part of David we will miss and never forget. We also know of the struggles David went through and the courageous effort he made to turn his life around. He also ministered to those who were struggling. Sharing his life experiences in the hope that they too would turn to God. Anyone who knew David also knew of his love of the Dallas Cowboys. He stuck with his favorite team through thick and thin. He also LOVED to fish. David went everywhere in his quest to catch “the big one.” … including countless lakes and ditches. His family would only laugh when we asked if he caught many fish. We’ll just leave it at that. We will miss his jokes and his smiles … and will spend a lifetime trying to fill the void that will be left by his passing. We leave the rest of his journey in God’s hands. May you rest in peace, David. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Zachary Zambrano.
