Paul Burton Riley, Jr., age 66, died Friday, March 20, 2015 in Clayton, New Mexico.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 23, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Billy Rammage Officiating. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, New Mexico by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Paul Burton Riley, Jr. was born in Hemit, CA to Murlene and Paul B. Riley, Sr. on April 4, 1948. He graduated from high school in Roy, NM in 1966. Paul married his high school sweetheart, Connie Jo Baum the following November at the Baum Family Ranch in Roy. He became the first Riley to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration & Finance degree with a minor in Real estate from Eastern New Mexico University in 1971. Upon graduation Paul and Connie moved to Clayton, New Mexico where Paul was hired as a teller in The Farmers & Stockmans Bank. They farmed and ranched west and southwest of Clayton where they raised there boys. Paul and his wife were adamant that their family be raised in the farm and ranch way of life so that they might acquire the work ethic and values that come with it. After 35 years, Paul retired from The Farmers & Stockmans Bank of Clayton as a Vice President of Loan Operations. He dedicated his career to helping people realize there dreams. He was always willing to try to help those who needed it. He was preceded in death by his father Paul B. Riley, Sr. and mother Murlene Riley of Des Moines, New Mexico.

He is survived by his wife Connie and three sons; Patrick and his wife Barbara Riley along with their children Reid and Tori Riley of Clayton, New Mexico, Joseph and his wife Tricia Riley with their three children, Bethany, Wesley and Kamy Riley also of Clayton, New Mexico, and their youngest son Solon and his wife Jerra Riley with their children Braelynn and Creed Riley of Canyon, Texas. Paul is also survived by his sister Barbara Riley from Raton, New Mexico and her son Jason and his wife Casey Newell of Eagle, Colorado, a brother George and his wife Jackie Riley with their children Katie of Flagstaff, Arizona and Darcey Riley from Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jennifer Knight and her husband Josh knight and four boys of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Jessica Riley also from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and his youngest brother Brad and his wife Alicia Riley and their children Lakin and Zoey Riley of Texline, Texas. Paul is also survived by his mother-in-law Anna Faye Baum from Clayton as well as numerous other cousins, brothers and sisters in law along with many nieces and nephews that were held near and dear to his heart.
