It is with profound sadness that the family of Janet L. Maniscalco announces her passing on February 17, 2015. The Lord took our warrior at 4:01 pm. She was 50.
She was born in Fresno, California on November 1, 1964. All Saint’s Day. Nov. 1 is a day that commemorates all those who have attained beatific vision in Heaven. However, her heart remained loyal to Trinidad, Colorado. Janet was the daughter of Arturo and Mary (Melvin) Martinez. She is preceded in death by her Godson, Devon Martinez; grandparents Rafael and Carmela Martinez, and grandfather Leslie Melvin.
She is survived by grandmother, Sally Melvin Hawthrone, Florida, her three children , Jessica (Luis) Guzman, Kyle Maniscalco and AshleyManiscalco. Her brothers Rick Martinez (Judi Martin) of Colorado Springs and Joe (Phaedra) Martinez of Trinidad, her four beautiful grandchildren: Lexi, Arianna, Luis Antonio and Annalyse, nieces and nephew, Kennedy (Goddaughter), Haylee, and Joseph Jr.
She graduated Trinidad High School with the Class of 1983 “1983 Free To Be.” She was a bookkeeper for Majestic Fencing & Lanscaping most of her life. A busy bee to say the least, always at work to ensure she could raise her three children. When she was at home you could find her either reading, taking a bubble bath or watching the ID or Lifetime channel. Her grandchildren warmed her heart in a way that no one else could.
A beautiful woman taken to soon but she is at rest with her Lord. You are our sunshine, our only sunshine.
