Bonnie Mae Best, 80, of Raton, New Mexico passed away Wednesday February 11, 2015. Bonnie was born to Louis Albert (L.A) White and Linnie Lee (Monroe) White on June 13, 1934 in Ysleta Texas.
Bonnie and her parents moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico in 1948 where they lived and operated a family farm on Norton Road east of town. During her high school years in Tucumcari, she was a drum majorette, member of the Junior Miss Club and Quay County Rodeo Queen in 1950. She met and married her soul mate, Teddy M. Best and made their home in Tucumcari working on the family farm until 1971.
Bonnie worked as head flower designer at Flowerland in Raton for over 15 years and continued to assist with arrangements over special holidays after her retirement.
Mrs. Best was preceded in death by her husband Teddy Morgan Best, her parents, and her brother William Lee (Bill) White. Surviving family members include son Alan Lee Best and wife Dorothy (Sims) Best of Raton, New Mexico, daughter Sheri Lyn (Best) Keith of Tucumcari, New Mexico along with grandchildren Alana Best, Dwaine Best. Ryan Sappington, Nathan Best, and Justin Keith; as well as seven great-great children, niece Debbie Brabham and nephew Jim White.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family, her beloved friends at Flowerland, as well as her good friends and caring neighbors. No memorial service is scheduled.
