Commissioners breezed through a short agenda Tuesday evening with special note that the next regular meeting will be Thursday February 26, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

Commissioner approved WM Serazio Construction the lone bidder for minor street and drainage maintenance. The contract was basically the same except for the quantities of material being bid.

Commissioners approved Raton Country Club as the city’s Liquor License Vendor to be used primarily at the Raton Convention Center for parties and wedding receptions. Raton Mains Street was the only other contender for that contract.

Commissioners approved Resolution 2015-06 which is the sixth budget adjustment for Fiscal Year 2015. They also approved the Beer and Wine License application for Pappas Sweet Shop.

City Manager Scott Berry noted that the great weather has allowed city crews to do some pothole repairs and other street maintenance. He informed the commission about the water leak at the Shuler Theater and the need for some repairs at the Convention Center.

Berry travelled to Santa Fe and met with Lt. Governor John Sanchez concerning economic development issues and capital outlay projects. He also met with Representative Dennis Rausch and Senator Pete Campos about the city’s capital outlay projects most importantly the transfer station.

He added that the discussion are ongoing concerning the Highland’s building and they expect to have matters close to completion and they will meet with TSJC next week about the building.

Again the next regular meeting of the Raton city commission will be on Thursday February 26, at 6:00 p.m.
